ROCHESTER, NY - Quarterback Jason Boltus (Baldwinsville, NY) earned Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week accolades announced late Sunday for his efforts Saturday in a 49-12 pounding of Becker College. Boltus is the sixth different Hartwick player to earn Empire 8 Offensive or Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Boltus completed 24 of 36 passes for 361 yards and five touchdowns to lead Hartwick to the win. He has thrown for 20 scores this season and has tossed at least one touchdown pass in each of the past 25 games, dating back to the second game of his sophomore season. The All-American senior also leads the nation in total offense.
The Hawks are 4-1 and winners of three straight games. They still are just shy of the D3football.com Top 25 in the "receiving votes" category. The team travels to Mount Ida on Saturday, Oct. 25.
