Come see for yourself. As you apply to colleges, you will surely be inundated with guidebooks, Web sites, and college fairs. However, none of these can come close to the experience of being on campus. That's why we invite you to visit Hartwick and meet with an admissions counselor.

At Hartwick, admissions really is a one-on-one, personal process. While we don't require interviews, we do encourage them. In an interview, we can learn great things from you that we can't learn from your paperwork.

On-Campus Interviews

We do strongly recommend "formal" interviews, although we do not require them. An in-person interview gives you an opportunity to tell us about yourself and the experiences you’ve had, so we know the whole story, not just what we can see from your paperwork and test scores.

If you'd like to schedule an interview, please note:

• Interviews may be scheduled six days a week most of the academic year:
  
  
  • Monday – Friday at 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
  • Select Saturdays in September, October, November, December, January, February, March, and April.
  • No interviews during Thanksgiving recess and the week between Christmas and New Year's Day.
  • Summer months, interviews are available at 9:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 3:15 p.m.

Appointments should be made at least one week in advance.

Off-Campus Interviews

We know that not every applicant can make the trip to Oneonta. Therefore, we offer a number of opportunities to interview off-campus. Interviews with admissions representatives or members of the Hartwick Alumni Recruitment Team (HART) can be arranged in many places nationwide. Also, we can arrange telephone interviews. Group Information Sessions

The group session enables you to learn the basics and get answers to common questions from an admissions representative without being in a one-on-one interview.

Group sessions are held:

• Select Saturdays in September, October, November, December, January, February, March, and April. 
• Select Saturdays in July and August.

Campus Tours

Be sure to take a tour during your visit. You’ll get the feel of our beautiful and friendly campus and learn more about Hartwick from a student guide.  Some things to know:

We conduct campus tours six days a week most of the academic year:

• Monday – Friday on the top of the hour from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Select Saturdays in September, October, November, December, January, February, March, and April.  
• From May 29 - August 24, tours are given at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m.
• August 27 - September 7 one tour is offered each day, call for details

Open Houses

Learn about us firsthand at one of our on-campus open houses!

Discover our innovative programs and take a tour of campus. Hear from admissions and financial aid counselors and meet faculty from each of our academic programs. Most importantly, hear from current students about their experiences at Hartwick.

Fall 2007 Open House dates:

• Sunday, October 7
• Saturday, November 10

In the spring, we hold several admissions events, including:

• Test Drives in April for admitted students (a chance to live a "day in the life" of a Hartwick student!)
• Junior Days on Campus.  This program is a great introduction to Hartwick, emphasizing the opportunities available showing how Hartwick Connects the Classroom to the World and providing the chance for high school juniors to talk to current students and faculty.  Tours are included as a part of this program. We are offering Junior Days in 2008 on March 18, 19, 20, and 21.  Choose either a morning (9-noon) or afternoon (1-4:30) session.

Hartwick Overnight Program (HOP)

Overnight visits can be arranged through the Office of Admissions. These allow you to stay with a Hartwick student and experience the campus, an opportunity that can prove valuable in your decision process.  We offer HOP on the following dates, but may be able to schedule an alternate date on many Sundays through Thursdays--please call for more information.

A consent form signed by both the student and the parent/guardian must be received prior to the student staying overnight.

Fall 2007 HOP dates:

• Sunday: October 7, 21, 28; November 4, 11
• Friday: November 9 (in conjunction with Open House)
