Hudson Named Eastern Tournament MVP; Dorman, McKee Also Honored

CAMBRIDGE, MA - At the conclusion of the CWPA Eastern Championship on Sunday evening in Cambridge, MA, Hartwick junior standout Kirsten Hudson (Wellington, New Zealand) was tabbed the tournament's Most Valuable Player as well as a first team selection. 'Wick sophomores Jess Dorman (Auckland, New Zealand) and Jessica McKee (Tustin, CA) were also second team honorees.

It marks the second time in three years, Hudson has claimed the MVP award at the tournament and third straight year she has garnered first team accolades. She finished the three-day event with 17 points on nine goals and eight assists. She scored four goal and assisted four other Hartwick scores in a quarterfinal win over Harvard, added three goals and three helpers in the semifinals against Brown, and netted a pair and earned another assists versus Michigan. Over the weekend, she became the first player in Hartwick history to break the 200-point mark in a single season and the first to eclipse the 500-point barrier in a career.

Dorman closed out the weekend with 42 saves, three steals, and two assists. She made a career-high 20 saves to shut down the Crimson in the Hawks' quarterfinal win on Friday. She then stopped 11 shots against Brown in the semifinals and another 11 versus the Wolverines Sunday. She broke Olivia Colebourne's career record for saves at 'Wick on Sunday. Dorman, in just two seasons, now has accumulated 809 stops in the Hawks' cage.

McKee was 'Wick's third leading scoring this weekend with seven tallies. She scored two against Harvard, four against Brown and one against Michigan to give her a final season total of 65 which tied for second on the team. Her 65 goals and 44 assists give her 109 points on the year which is the 10th highest single-season point total in the history of the program.
