Congratulations to the Class of 2009!
Below you will find a checklist which covers all of the technology "housekeeping" items to think about before you leave Hartwick. But first...
You Will Soon Be Alumni. There is a Web site dedicated to supporting the Hartwick alumni community which you can use to keep in touch with classmates, network with other graduates for job opportunities, etc.
Checklist of Services and What Happens after Graduation:
- Your E-mail Account
Hartwick will keep your e-mail account active until January 2, 2010. This allows you enough time to transition from your Hartwick e-mail to a new account. If you want to keep your Hartwick e-mail account active beyond that date, you must notify us by clicking here. There is no charge to keep your Hartwick e-mail account. - Network Storage (M: Drive) and Web pages
Like your e-mail account (see above), unless we hear from you, network storage (your M: drive) and Web pages will be deleted on or shortly after January 2, 2010. - Sygate
Graduates will want to remove Sygate to ensure problem-free operation of their notebook off campus. As we get closer to graduation, another e-mail message will be sent regarding the disabling/removal of Sygate. - Software on your Hartwick-Issued notebook
The license for the Windows operating system on your notebook is owned by you, but the licenses for the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and SPSS are issued to and owned by Hartwick. Current students are allowed to use Hartwick licenses, but when you graduate, you are responsible for removing this software from your computer. This is specifically stated in the contract you signed when you received your notebook. If you have any questions about what should be deleted and why, please contact the Technology Services Center at x4357. - WebAvisor Access
WebAdvisor access will end shortly after graduation. After graduation you may contact the Registrar's Office (click here for their Web page) or, if you need an official transcript, click here. - Blackboard Access
Blackboard access will end shortly after graduation. - WICKit Card
Any funds left on your WICKit card will be credited to your student account, and any credits on your student account will be sent to you in June or July. For seniors, WICKit card access to doors will be removed after graduation. - Listservs and Mailing Lists
If you do not plan to keep your Hartwick e-mail account, please be sure to unsubscribe from any mailing lists or listservs you may belong to, before your Hartwick account is deleted. - Warranty and Repairs on your notebook
We hope you will get many more years of service from your Hartwick-issued notebook. For those who did not upgrade as juniors or seniors, your manufacturer's warranty will expire during the summer of 2009. You can still call the Technology Services Center (x4357 or e-mail to helpline@hartwick.edu) if you have any problems or need repairs. There will be a charge, of course, and you will be responsible for any shipping; but the charge will generally be less than having the work done by commercial vendors. - Your Last STC Telephone Bill
Your last STC telephone bill will be mailed to your home address. You can verify your home address by dialing x7999 or using the STC Web page: www.stcservices.com. - Your Voice Mail Account
Your voice mail account will be turned off shortly after you graduate. If you would like to extend your voice mail account an additional 30 days, you must notify us by clicking here.
