ONEONTA, NY - RIT defeated Hartwick's women's tennis team on Sunday by a final count of 7-2 in the Empire 8 opener for the Hawks. With the loss, 'Wick slips to 0-2 on the season. RIT improves to 1-1 overall and in the Empire 8.
Jennifer Lin (Albany, NY/Colonie) and Kim Post (Nashua, NH/North Middlesex Reg.) improved to 2-0 on the season with a 9-7 win in second doubles over Tigers Lindsey Gibson and Michele Caporali. The duo was also victorious in their opner against RPI earlier in the week.
Post, who led the Hawks in singles victories last fall, also earned her first individual win of the dual match season with a 5-7, 6-3, 10-6 come-from-behind win over Gibson in fourth singles play.
The Hawks look for win number one on the season on Wednesday as they travel up the road to Oneonta State at 4 p.m.
