
KANSAS CITY, KS - On Friday, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced that the Hartwick men's soccer team was one of 143 men's programs from around the nation posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award.
Head coach Ian McIntyre's side earned a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.28 this season, which ranks tied for 10th among Division I programs. The Hawks tied with Bucknell, just one percentage point behind Loyola Chicago and two behind Binghamton, Columbia, and Marist for 6th.
The Hawks finished the 2009 campaign 10-4-4 overall and advanced to its first Mid-American Conference Championship match.
