Residential Life

Feel at home in your new home. The rooms are comfortable; the food is good, and friends are plenty . . . What more do you need to make a home away from home?

An overview:

Residence Halls
As a first year student, you'll live on campus in one of our seven traditional residence halls. The residences are fully wired for Internet access and cable TV. The residence halls also offer exercise equipment, lounge space, kitchenettes, and recreational rooms.

After your first year, you can choose from several different residence halls on campus and cabins at our Pine Lake Environmental Campus. Throughout your experience at Hartwick, you'll find yourself part of an active and unique living-learning community. More about living options on campus ...

Roommates
After you enroll, you'll fill out a roommate preference questionnaire to help us match you with someone who shares similar habits and tastes. Our residential life staff actively works to help each student experience a well-rounded living and learning environment.

Food
Our two dining facilities—the Commons dining hall and the Table Rock Cafe—provide quality, variety, convenience, and flexibility while also offering traditional American cuisine, delicious ethnic dishes, appealing low-fat options, and more. You can also grab a snack, a smoothie, or a cofee and hand out at Laura's or Stack Lounge in Dewar Union.

Students contract for a meal plan from a variety of choices. The Commons offers customized diets for all students who have medically supervised dietary needs—everything from a complete individual menu to minor accommodations to our current menu cycle.  We will also provide food supplies for students to keep in their rooms if medically necessary.
