Hartwick College Staff Council (HCSC)

Staff Council seeks input and participation from all staff members. E-mail HCSC at staffcouncil@hartwick.edu or contact any of our members.

Staff Council Meetings:
The first Tuesday of each month at  9:00 a.m. in Eaton Lounge.

Elections
Staff starting new two year terms in June 2009 are: 
At Large members: Ann Carman and Allison Spears (nonexempt)

Divisional:  Tracy Anderson (IT & IR), Lynda Clark (Academic Affairs), Kate Fitz-Henry (Financial Services)

Staff Recognition Awards
On a sun-washed Dewar patio, Staff Council topped off the 2008-09 year with Special Recognition Awards to two colleagues.    In the morning Marcia Saggese was presented with her award for Customer Service as she has shown exceptional service to students, faculty, and staff.  During the ice cream social in the afternoon, Anna Meyer was presented with the Team Player Award which recognized her excellent performance and commitment to teamwork and Hartwick.

The Mission of Hartwick College Staff Council
The Hartwick College Staff Council's mission is to serve in an advisory capacity to the President and Cabinet in matters pertaining to the interests and needs of the staff with regard to their daily activities and work conditions as they strive to support the College's goal of quality liberal arts education.  More...

The HCSC purpose is to:

  • Facilitate communication between staff and the campus community.
  • Participate, assist, and advise in decision making processes that affect the staff's relationship with the larger College community, e.g. select staff representatives to serve on institutional task forces and committees when appropriate.
  • Present ideas that originate from the staff to the College President.
  • Foster a sense of community among our diverse population.
  • Make Hartwick College's educational community an efficient, fulfilling and attractive work environment.
  • Promote and advocate staff professionalism and support opportunities for the leadership development of its members.
