As the Hartwick Drive and Campus Gateway construction and paving continues, stay safe and use caution around work zones.

Hartwick Drive is closed and is becoming a pedestrian way.

  • Parking has been designated for ADA (near Bresee and Clark), safety vehicles, and package delivery immediately behind Clark Hall.  These should be the only vehicles parking in that area.
  • No one should be parking in the area near the old rain garden, near Golisano Hall. That area is for construction vehicles.
  • All College and Aramark employees are reminded to use extra caution when walking in the vicinity of these areas and to be diligent not to walk through construction zones.
  • Guests visiting the College are also advised to use extra caution around construction zones.

All milling and paving work is weather permitting.

  • Access to Yager Hall patio will be closed Monday, August 14-Friday, August 18 to resurface the patio and grout the granite steps. Enter and exit Yager Hall though the Museum entrance or the Slade Theatre entrance.
  • Saxton Hall parking lot and the road from Binder lot to the new apartment community building will be paved Thursday, August 17th. No parking in the Saxton lot or the road from upper binder after Wednesday, August 16 5 p.m. 
  • Effective Thursday, August 3 after 3 p.m., the valley side (East) entrance/exit to Clark Hall will be closed to facilitate construction for the new walk. 
  • Effective Wednesday, August 16 after 12 p.m. the Shineman Chapel House side (North) Clark Hall entrance/exit will be closed to facilitate reconstruction of the sidewalk. Please use the back (West) entrance/exit to Clark Hall on the second floor.
  • To access Dewar Hall from Clark Hall, use the new steps between Clark Hall and Shineman Chapel House down to the Hartwick Drive walk. These steps will have wood hand rails temporarily installed. Please be sure to stay in the cordoned off area that will be marked with tape and barrels to guide you to the Dewar Hall Bookstore entrance.

Do not use Hartwick College Center for Craft Food & Beverage or Greenhouse west (hillside) entrance or exit for the next 6 hours. All JSC foot traffic enter through JSC main entrance at the patio, south end facing the valley or  through 1st floor entrance facing Van Ess Hall.
  • Hartwick Drive main entrance to Shineman Chapel House including Saxton Parking Lot will be milled Thursday, August 10. No entry except construction vehicles during milling.
  • Please enter campus from Clinton Street, access to Binder Physical Education Center and Faculty & Staff parking between Wright Stadium and Binder (PEC), through Miller Parking Lot and wrong way past the new residence hall.
  • Parking for Johnstone Science Center, Golisano, Bresee, Clark, and Dewar Halls use Miller Parking Lot.
  • Access to Shineman Parking Lot will be limited as the milling machine will require 3 passes on Hartwick Drive. No entrance or egress near milling operation.
  • ADA, service vehicles and deliveries to Clark/Bresee Halls use same route, but be prepared to stop if milling is in progress at that end.
  • Hartwick Drive and Saxton Hall Parking Lot will be paved with the base layer on Saturday, August 12, same driving and parking restrictions apply.
  • No paving work is scheduled for Friday, August 11.
  • Parking lot striping is scheduled to begin Thursday, August 10 at 2 a.m. Lot striping should be finished by Thursday afternoon. Please no parking in following lots Wednesday (8/9/17 night: Hilltop/Oyaron Houses- (residents park in large lot, Miller Lot), Lower Yager Hall Lot, Wilder Hall Lot, VanEss Hall Lot, Leitzell Hall Lot, and Upper Perrella Health Center Lot.
  • As of Tuesday, August 8, paving has begun from Wright Stadium to Binder Physical Education Center (PEC), upper Binder parking lot is swept and ready for paving on August 9.
  • Please no parking at upper Binder parking lot. Access Binder (PEC) through the Miller parking lot next to Johnstone Science Center (JSC) and up the ” wrong way” past the new residence hall.
  • Parking is now open at Miller Court and next to Elmore Field.

The New Residence Hall, Oyaron and Hilltop Houses can still be accessed from the lower campus. The upper campus traffic will need to exit going back down the hill past Wright Stadium. Please use extreme caution when exiting as on coming traffic may be encountered. Expectations are that the closed section will reopen mid to late afternoon.

  • Traffic will be diverted through Miller Lot while milling and green space construction is under way at the New Residence Hall.
  • Hartwick Drive demo and reconstruction continues.
  • Saxton Hall and Wilder Hall refurbishment complete. Furniture to be delivered.
  • Beginning Friday, June 9 enter/exit Bresee Hall from west (hillside) doors or bridge, the front entrance will be excavated.
