We have all heard someone use these terms when trying to describe a time when their perspective shifted. A catalyst had freed them to change their thinking and perhaps, ultimately, their direction. Even though this critical juncture is frequently described as a discrete event, it is often someone, rather that something, that causes us to change both our focus and our journey.

The Lambros Arena crowd went wild as first year student Bryce VanCott sunk a half-court shot at Hawks’ Night Fever 2019 to kick off True Blue Weekend. Contrast that to the sound over the valley of Phi Mu Alpha singing our alma mater, Oyraon Hill of Dreams, at First Walk, the concluding event of Welcome Weekend 2019. Though these event were os very different, they share the commonalities of bringing our students together and celebrating our traditions, history, and pride.
