Hobson Brings Experience and Insights
Paula Lee Hobson, Hartwick’s new Vice President for College Advancement, appreciates the power of giving.
“As a first-generation college student, my life was changed by a donor’s generosity,” Hobson says. “I have a deep and personal understanding of the transformational impact that scholarships have on students. Beyond the funding, it meant so much to me that someone I never met believed in my potential. I know our students feel the same.” Hobson and her family have created a J Term scholarship at Hartwick College that, she says, “will ensure that our students have every opportunity to expand their point of view and explore their world.”
“Paula Lee is an innovative fundraiser and insightful communicator,” says President Margaret L. Drugovich, P’12. “She fosters creative problem solving, integrated planning, and full accountability. I am excited to have her on Hartwick’s leadership team as we engage others in moving this great college forward.”
With more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in higher education and another 14 in the private sector, Hobson brings depth in all facets of development and communications. She most recently served as Vice President for University Advancement at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Hobson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and a master’s from the University of Nevada.
