College rankings, guidebooks and awards can’t tell you whether Hartwick’s the best fit for you, but they can give you some useful information

Colleges of Distinction

Hartwick has been recognized for its committed implementation of High-Impact Educational Practices, earning its title as one of the nation’s Colleges of Distinction for 2020-2021. Hartwick has proven itself to be at the forefront of American higher education with a modern, student-centered approach to teaching. The College also earned distinction for its Nursing, Business and Career Development programs.

US News & World Report

US News & World Report ranked Hartwick among the top 150 National Liberal Arts Colleges in 2021. The publication also rated Hartwick a Top Performer on Social Mobility (tied for #37).

Washington Monthly

Washington Monthly’s 2020 College Guide and Rankings placed Hartwick among the 125 top Liberal Arts Colleges this year. The magazine ranks liberal arts colleges based on their “contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research, and promoting public service.” Washington Monthly also recognized Hartwick as a “Best Bang for the Buck” in the Northeast.

The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education

The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education put Hartwick in a tie with the University of Kentucky and Seton Hall University. WSJ/THE ranks schools in four areas: resources, engagement, outcomes, and environment.
