Serafina is excited to help each and every student she works with find their passion while on their flight path. Serafina hopes to help students learn the power of their mindset, share the life lessons she has learned throughout her own college and life journey, and provide individualized mentoring and support based on student’s needs. Serafina graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2017 and then spent two years teaching elementary students before joining us at Hartwick College. She plans to graduate with her master’s degree from SUNY at Buffalo State in multidisciplinary studies in educational technology and adult education in May 2020. Her favorite spot on campus is the Stack Lounge Patio of Dewar Union.

Patrick (Pat) GosierOffice: Golisano Hall 130 |
Pat grew up in the Mohawk Valley and graduated from SUNY Brockport as a transfer student with a degree in psychology and minor in criminal justice in 2014 . Since then he has been assisting students along their educational pursuit in roles at the high school and college level. Pat has his master’s degree in higher education from UNC Wilmington and is passionate about underrepresented students getting their degrees. He believes in empowering students to make the most of the opportunities in front of them and the uniqueness each student possesses. Pat enjoys kayaking, fishing, watching sports, and gaming in his free time. His favorite spot on campus is the 3rd Floor Golisano Hall Lobby.

Gianpaolo LicataOffice: Golisano Hall 124 |
Gianpaolo joins Hartwick College as a Student Success Coach. The California native comes to us from King’s College where he served as a Graduate Assistant in Athletics, working with their academic support services and coaching the throwing events for the track and field team while earning his master’s degree of education in curriculum and instruction. Prior to King’s, Gianpaolo spent over a decade working in tech, education and coaching at the secondary and collegiate level. In this work, Gianpaolo saw the importance of support services in the development of students. This inspired him to take a role that would help him support and foster growth in students during such an important time in their lives. When not at work, Gianpaolo enjoys coaching, hiking, working out, cooking and spending time with his family. His favorite spot on campus is Frisbee Field.

Karmyn (Car-Mean) RamirezOffice: Golisano Hall 118 |
Karmyn is joining Hartwick College as a new Student Success Coach. Karmyn attended Montclair State University in New Jersey where she studied gender, sexuality, and women’s studies, LGBTQ+ studies, and sociology. She attended Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania where she received her Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Karmyn is extremely passionate about supporting students as they navigate college and has dedicated her professional career to student support, leadership, and social justice. Karmyn loves being creative, listening to Broadway musicals, and spending time with her Tabby Cat–Calliope. She enjoys taking in the view from her favorite spot on campus in front of Bresee Hall.
