The Commons, Dewar Union
You may expect sanitation procedures in the entryway, including hand sanitizing stations.
Guest will use a door specifically for entering and a door specifically for exiting.
There is a tracker that displays a red or green light in front of the Commons to show and control capacity. If the light is green, you may enter, if the light is red, you will have to wait until other guests leave.
All tables in the dining hall have Lexan barriers to help in creating a safer environment for all guests to dine-in.
You can order Meals-on-the-Go with our mobile ordering app, At this time Table Rock Café and the Grocery Ordering form are available with the new app. We hope to have John Christophers Café available shortly.
Meals to go are available. You must follow all safety guidance with meals to go.
All students will receive a reusable container for all main meals to go out of the Commons on Sunday, January 17. These containers will be distributed at the dinner on Sunday night in your dorm. If you lose this container or do not remember it your account will be charged $5 for a new container.
During the spring, if you would like a meal to go you will have to bring your reusable container to the Commons. Containers will be exchanged for a clean container at the front desk.
Limited seating will be available for dining-in.
In the Serving Area
Floor decals and consistent signage are in place to enforce traffic patterns and social distancing.
There is a clockwise travel pattern that allows efficient movement through select stations.
There are no self-service stations.
You will receive a cup from the front desk as you enter the Commons. Drinks from the paddle based soda dispensers will be self-serve. The paddle based dispensers will be cleaned every 10 minutes.
All stations are attended by uniformed staff wearing and using appropriate PPE.
Staff frequently sanitizing serving stations to ensure safety and instill confidence.
No personal refillable containers to be utilized in the dining room to ensure safety for our staff and guests.
Seating availability is based on local government regulations and seat capacity of the space.
Constant sanitation and cleaning by uniformed staff members will take place.
Tables that are cleaned and disinfected after each use and free of any items like salt/pepper shakers or napkin dispensers will have a sign indicating they are ready for use by the next guest.
For Table Rock Café
In the Café, students will experience:
A door specifically for entering and a door specifically for exiting;
Augmented signage that includes floor decals to reinforce traffic patterns and social distancing;
An ordering kiosk available outside of Table Rock in Stack Lounge;
A new mobile ordering app to order from anywhere on campus to ensure your order will be ready when you have availability
A maximum capacity of 12 people;
Improved sanitation procedures, including hand sanitizing stations.
Dining Through Quarantine
For Quarantine Meals for Scheduled Controlled Move-in
During the initial quarantine period students will experience:
We will be providing three meals a day.
These meals will be set up as a pickup out of the main common area in your dorm.
A schedule of when the meals will be available for pickup will be sent to you.
A menu will be sent to you so that you can see what the set meals are for this time period.
Students in the Apartments, Townhouses or at Pine lake will receive a meal kit to prepare their own meals during the initial quarantine period.
For Quarantine Meals During the Semester
During quarantine throughout the semester students will experience:
We will be providing three hot/fresh meals each day: Breakfast around 9 a.m., Lunch around 12 p.m., and Dinner around 5 p.m.
On your initial day in quarantine your meals will be a set menu. We will contact you for any dietary restrictions.
As soon as you are placed into quarantine you will receive an email with a link to order all of your meals for the entirety of the quarantine period. This must be filled out as soon as you receive it to ensure you receive the meals that you would like starting the next day.
