It is fitting, then, that The Campaign for Hartwick Students evolved to include The Opportunity Fund, making room for new initiatives and donors’ special interests.
The Opportunity Fund is a framework for giving “outside the box.” It’s the latest way that Hartwick is advancing new initiatives while aligning with donors’ special interests.
Alumni, parents, and friends with an entrepreneurial mindset can use this vehicle to help advance innovations and enhancements at the College. Current opportunities include helping to meet the matches posed by some of Hartwick’s most generous donors. Sally Griffiths Herbert ’88 and her husband Tim Herbert have made the lead gift, and posed a challenge, for campus-wide innovations spearheaded and coordinated by the Griffiths Center for Collaboration & Innovation. Brian Wright H’02 challenge fans of ’Wick athletics to make gifts in support of the state-of-the-art turf needed at Wright Stadium. The Clark Foundation’s challenge grant for the Nursing Simulation Lab at Hartwick College is sparking others’ investments in innovation, this time for the nursing program.
Hartwick225: Students First is the cross-campus strategic plan guiding the next phase of Hartwick’s future. Many important initiatives will require funding to move forward.
