Wings from Midnight Madness

Annual Hartwick Midnight Madness Event a Success

December 5, 2016

Each year, the Division of Student Affairs and Aramark host “Midnight Madness” in The Commons – an event for students to take a well-deserved break from a long night of studying for their week of final exams that lies ahead.

Last night, 17 faculty and staff volunteers, along with Aramark workers, served 673 students 1,080 slices of pizza, 4,140 chicken wings, 25 pounds of celery, and six gallons of blue cheese dressing. Also, 175 cups of coffee and an untold amount soda and other drinks were also consumed.

“Student Affairs and Armark worked together again to host Midnight Madness for our students,” Associate Director of Campus Activities Paul J. Habernig. “I look forward to this event every year, to see our students before finals and wish them good luck. It’s a great study break, with food, and plenty of prizes, and I think the students look forward to the event as well. This is a tradition that gets better each year.”

Hartwick faculty and staff who stayed up late to serve students included the following people: Residence Life Area Coordinator Jeff Barker; Residence Life Area Coordinator Aimee Boyd; Director of Residential Life and Housing Zachary D. Brown; Associate Director of Residential Life and Housing Biama Charles; Athletic Director Kim Fierke; Executive Director of Engagement Alicia Fish;  Residential Life Area Coordinator Ed Gabrys; Head Athletic Trainer Heidi Hofbauer-Buzzy; and Director of Campus Safety Thomas P. Kelly.

Also volunteering were Alumni Events Assistant Sabrina Lawrence; Dean of Student Life Tara Loewenguth; Director of Institutional Research Amanda Moske; Director of Campus Activities and Dewar Union Joshua Nelson; Administrative Assistant for Perella Health Center Sandy Rorick; Mental Health Counselor Sydney Scalici; and Coordinator of Health Promotions and Campbell Fitness Center Heidi Tanner.
