Hartwick Names Winners of Pine Lake Photo Contest

Winners of the spring 2016 Pine Lake Outstanding Nature Photography Contest were announced recently in the Vaudevillian at the College’s Pine Lake Environmental Campus. Nearly 60 photos were submitted for review this season.

The following students were award prizes based on careful consideration and selection by judges from all images submitted:

  • Rosa Maun ’18, first place, “Complementary”
  • Krista Curpier ’19, second place, “Twisted Roots”
  • Michaela Herman ’16, third place, “Droplet”

Honorable mentions from the event included: Karl Gustafson ’17 for “Peeling;” Elyzabeth Bodington ’17 for “Ice;” Kerrie Delibris ’17 for “Greens;” and Rebecca Nathan ’19 for “February.”

Coordinator for Challenge Education and Pine Lake Residency and Interim Director for Pine Lake Erin Toal and Professor of Art Katharine Kreisher organized the show. Serving as judges for the competition were Associate Professor of Physics Parker Troischt, Assistant Professor of Art Rich Barlow, and Tabatha Hartshorn ’16, who also helped with contest logistics.

The photo show will be on display in the Vaudevillian at Pine Lake through the fall of 2016.
