Mr. Markuson’s musical career has been that of a stage actor and instructor. For the past 30+ years, he has performed throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe in opera, recital, oratorio, and musical theatre, seen locally with numerous productions by Orpheus Theatre and the Catskill Symphony. In addition, he holds a distinction of being in the first cast of the Glimmerglass Opera production of La Boheme.

His career as a teacher and educator encompasses SUNY Delhi College, Hartwick College, and SUNY Oneonta where he leads classes in Western Classical Music, History of Musical Theatre, American Popular Music, History of Rock and Roll, History of Afro-American Culture, and History of Radio.

Mr. Markuson holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia, a Master of Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.
