Hartwick’s 30–credit master of education (M.Ed.) in education, equity and innovation is designed for current educators and professionals in education-related fields who want to deepen their knowledge and expand their capacity for leadership. The program combines graduate study in curriculum, inclusive teaching, research, technology, ethics and education policy with a focus on the issues shaping education today.
Designed to be completed in one academic year, the program culminates in an original research thesis and public defense. The M.Ed. does not lead to initial teacher certification.

Get a head start on your graduate degree. Hartwick’s 3+1 and 4+1 pathways allow eligible undergraduate students to begin graduate coursework as part of their academic plan, creating a more direct path from a bachelor’s degree to a master’s degree.

Cost
$24,000 ($800 per credit x 30 credits)
Admission requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university (official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions must be submitted).
- 3.0 minimum GPA.
- Resume or CV that demonstrates relevant experience, leadership, or work with youth.
- Personal statement that addresses professional and academic goals, and motivation for entering the teaching profession (250-500 words).
- Two letters of recommendation (one academic and one professional or supervisory).
- Interview with program faculty.
