Perrella Wellness Center

Woke up with a fever? Twisted your ankle playing frisbee? Perrella Wellness Center has medical professionals on staff to diagnose and treat or refer you. It’s also the place to get your flu shot, protect your reproductive health, or take care of some routine tests.

Perrella Wellness Center also offers several areas of specialized care. Nursing students can get their tuberculosis screenings, and Perrella Center staff are the only providers in the area who can administer allergy shots to students. If you have a chronic illness such as diabetes or asthma, our Perrella team will work with your primary care doctor to help you maintain the care you need. Best of all, there’s no charge for services and minimal charges for testing.


We all need someone to talk to from time to time. Also in the Perrella Counseling Center, trained counselors and a psychiatric nurse are here for you. Arrange a meeting to discuss a wide range of issues, from stress and conflict to concerns about alcohol or substance abuse. All sessions are confidential and provided free of charge.

Does talking with another student sound right to you? We have dedicated 50/50 Peer Counselors here to help. They’re trained students who understand what you’re going through - they’ve been there, and they’re ready to listen.

Fitness Centers

Whether you like to work up a sweat on the bike, the treadmill, the weight room, or in the pool, Hartwick has what you need to get and stay fit!

Campbell Fitness Center, located in Dewar Union, has top-tier equipment for cardio and weight training, as well as spaces for dance and yoga classes led by student and professional trainers. At Elting Fitness, in the Binder Center, athletes can stay on top of their game with dedicated equipment. Athletic trainers, as well as coaches for strength and conditioning, are ready to help you achieve your fitness goals.

Take a few laps in our indoor pool or on the outdoor track, get a pick-up game going on our practice fields, or appreciate nature hiking our extensive trails – there are plenty of ways to keep your workout routine exciting!

Health Initiatives

Your health is important to all of us. That’s why we have Peer Health Educators, specially-trained students who lead campus-wide programs on everything from alcohol and drug awareness to tips for reducing stress and getting a good night’s sleep. Dance the night away with a Zumbathon. Take home prizes from trivia or tabling events. Pack up a personal wellness kit with soup and tissues to make those inevitable colds more bearable. Most importantly, learn healthy habits that you’ll use for the rest of your life.
