RETIREE HEALTH INSURANCE
Hartwick College offers Medicare Advantage plan insurance through MVP Health Care for eligible retirees. The insurance works in conjunction with Medicare and as such, participants must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B. This is not a supplemental insurance plan.
USA Care PPO is a Medicare Advantage Private Fee for Service Plan (PFFS). USA Care members are not restricted to a particular provider network, do not need referrals, and are free to obtain services from any provider in the U.S. who is eligible to be paid under Medicare rules and accepts USA Care’s Terms & Conditions. There are two rate tiers for the MVP USA Care plan:
Tier 1- East Region– which is for all members who reside in the Hudson Valley, Capital District, North Country, and Binghamton/Syracuse region. Rates are $279.72 per person, per month.
Tier 2- OSA Region– which is for all members who reside outside of New York and Vermont. Rates are $281.92 per person, per month.
Rates listed are effective January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
Hartwick College reserves the right to amend or terminate any of the plans or to change contribution levels toward benefits at its discretion for reasons it considers appropriate. This reservation of rights provision pertains to all current, former, and retired employees and applies to the retirement plan, the tuition remission & exchange plans, and to all insurance plans. No oral statement made by a representative of Hartwick College may contradict this reservation of rights provision.
