Inauguration Celebration

Laurel Bongiorno, Ph.D., was named the 13th president of Hartwick College by the Board of Trustees and will assume the presidency on June 1, 2026. She has served as vice president for academic affairs and provost since 2022, leading academic strategy and strengthening Hartwick’s distinctive Life Balance College model, which integrates academic rigor, career preparation and well-being.

A nationally recognized expert in early childhood education and strengths-based leadership, she is a frequent speaker and published author. She holds a doctorate in education from Walden University, a master’s from Boston University and a bachelor’s from Gordon College.

She and her husband, Chuck, have called Oneonta home since 2022.
