Whether you’re interested in a career in allopathic or osteopathic medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, chiropractic, physical or occupational therapy, or another health-related field, Hartwick will prepare you well for professional training and a successful career.
MANY CAREER PATHS
Healthcare-related fields are rapidly growing in demand. From physicians to dentists, chiropractors, podiatrists, physical and occupational therapists, even veterinarians, Hartwick’s Health Professions Advising Program can help.
You’ll not only develop a broad educational background in sciences and medicine, but you’ll find ways to bring your talents and your interests to your chosen professions – whether that’s languages, arts and music, athletics, or social sciences – preparing you to thrive in the world ahead.
AN EDUCATION BUILT FOR YOU
From the start, you’ll be part of a team that will guide you through the pre-med program requirements. Faculty and staff advisors meet with you to ensure you’ve got the classes you need. Join group advising forums and career-focused clubs, and meet with alumni and professionals working in the healthcare fields.
And when the time comes, your Guidance Team will help you prepare professional school application materials, conduct practice interviews with pre- and post-consultation, and make sure you’re the most competitive candidate possible when you apply to professional programs after Hartwick.
You won’t just be learning from textbooks. Lab experience, internships and research opportunities allow you to get the real-world work experience you need to succeed.
And when you cross the commencement stage, you’ll be ready to excel. Over the past five years, more than 70 percent of Hartwick graduates recommended by the Health Professions Advising Committee have been accepted by the professional schools to which they applied, including Albany Medical College, New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Tufts Dental School, and Cornell University Veterinary School.
