The HartLand Promise
Rooted Here. Invested Here.
Hartwick College draws students from 20 states and 10 countries, but our heart is right here at home. Nearly a third of our incoming class comes from the surrounding region and a strong share of our alumni build their lives and careers here, too.
That is why we created the HartLand Promise Scholarship, a guaranteed annual scholarship of $10,000 for students from public and private high schools in Albany, Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Otsego, Schenectady and Schoharie counties.
Made possible through the generosity of donors, this scholarship builds on Hartwick’s 225-year history as a cornerstone of our community. It keeps college affordable, strengthens local opportunity and ensures that talented students can thrive financially, academically and personally. It reflects our belief in life balance and our commitment to helping students succeed in all aspects of their lives.
Our promise is simple: invest in students from our region so they can invest back into it.
