Glenn Pichardo
Counseling Grad Intern
I am thrilled to be a member of the Hartwick College Counseling team as I am passionate about mental health and helping people reach their full potential. I believe that healing occurs through relationships and so I utilize Person-Centered Counseling techniques to create a warm, caring and supportive relationship. As a counselor, I am present, empathetic and affirming, which allows people to feel safe, comfortable and confident enough to do the work necessary to improve their lives. To assist people with their healing, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Solutions Focused Therapy.
I am also passionate about serving students from marginalized backgrounds such as low-income students, students of color, first-generation college students and students with disabilities. I have over fifteen years of higher education experience, primarily serving as a counselor in opportunity programs supporting students academically, financially, professionally and personally. I also completed a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an expected graduation date of summer 2025. In my free time, I enjoy CrossFit, yoga, basketball, meditation, learning from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., researching mental health innovations and spending time with my beloved dog, Blurry and my beloved cat, River.
