Lara Sanford
Director of AccessAbility Services & Academic Inclusivity
Lara Sanford has over 19 years of experience working in higher education. She started her career path in Alumni Relations, moved into Career Development and then to Disability Services. She is currently the Director of AccessAbility Services & Academic Inclusivity at Hartwick College. Lara has a strong and steadfast student-centered approach to her work and believes with the proper support students with disabilities can thrive in college and beyond. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and is certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory. In addition, she is a member of the Association on Higher Education and Disability and the New York State Disability Services Council. She is actively involved in the Southern Tier and Hudson Valley Disability Consortium to enhance awareness and acceptances of disabilities. In addition, Lara serves as co-advisor to the Eta Mu Chapter for the Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society for students with disabilities. She is also the advisor to Hartwick’s Gamma Phi Delta Sorority and Leadership, Education and Awareness for Disabilities Club.
