Scott A. DeJong is a technology educator and industry practitioner with over 20 years of experience in software development, systems architecture, and team leadership. Most recently serving as a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Professor DeJong brings real-world expertise directly into the classroom. At AWS since 2017, he has held progressive leadership roles including Systems Development Manager and Training Delivery Manager, focusing on automation and scalable solutions serving millions of users. Prior to AWS, Scott spent 13 years at Lockheed Martin in engineering and management positions, overseeing global technology operations for over 100,000 users. His experience spans multiple programming languages including Java, Python, Rust, C, and Perl, with expertise in cloud architecture and large-scale implementations. Scott holds a Master’s degree in Technical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and maintains multiple AWS certifications. He bridges academic theory with industry practice, emphasizing hands-on learning for the evolving technology industry.
