An Evening of Eerie Tales at Yager Museum

Ghost stories, eerie poetry and chilling tales will take center stage at Hartwick College’s Yager Museum of Art & Culture’s annual Halloween storytelling event, “The Horror in the Museum,” from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.

The free event features Hartwick students, faculty and staff reading and performing their favorite spooky prose, poetry and other works, offering an entertaining way to celebrate the Halloween season. The program is open to the public and due to the material’s content, the suggested age for attendees is 10 and above.

“Some of the best Halloween stories are the ones that stay with you long after the reading ends,” said Museum Curator Quentin Lewis. “The Horror in the Museum brings people together to share that feeling, whether they’re performing a favorite tale or discovering a new one.”

A limited number of reader spots remain available for Hartwick students, faculty, and staff. Contact Lewis to sign up or to get frightening suggestions if you need a little inspiration.

The museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., when the College is in session. The museum will be closed during Hartwick College recess Nov. 21-30. Admission is free. For more information, contact Museum Curator Quentin Lewis at 607-431-4481 or [email protected].
