Hartwick College Taps Record-Breaking Day of Giving to Launch Campaign

Hartwick celebrated the kick-off to its Together, We Soar campaign on April 8 with one of its most successful Day of Giving ever.

More than 280 students, staff, alumni and friends joined forces, raising an impressive $319,119, which surpassed last year’s total by 10%. The College received 220 gifts, secured 12 pledges and welcomed 52 first-time donors.

“This Giving Day saw the largest number of first-gift donors and the highest percentage of support by faculty,” said Rita Dibble, assistant vice president for philanthropy. “We also saw the highest number of gifts by students and the most revenue raised in one day. By having the Annual Day of Giving on the same day as the launch of the public phase of the Together, We Soar campaign, we were able to really energize our community, including the anonymous donor who made a $2.5 million gift.”

"We hope these investments in Hartwick's future will inspire donors at every level to join the campaign and propel the College to a more sustainable and secure future."

To ensure that every donor feels empowered to contribute in a way that suits them best, commitments to reach the $50 million campaign goal can be made in the form of outright gifts, multi-year pledges, planned gifts, or matching gifts. Gifts can be made online or via a check sent by mail, in one gift or monthly installments, in a bequest, from a charitable trust, or through stock transfers.

The Together, We Soar campaign is expected to conclude in the next two years. To learn more about the campaign and to participate, visit hartwick.edu/togetherwesoar.
