bring high school counselors, college admission professionals and educational organizations to Oyaron Hill for three days of conversation, networking and professional development.

Bryan Gross, vice president for enrollment management and athletics, emphasized the significance of this moment for both the College and the broader education community.

“The school counselor community is one of the most powerful forces in shaping the futures of young people,” Gross said. “Their dedication, insight and advocacy open doors for students every day. It’s an incredible honor to welcome them to Hartwick College to not only showcase all we offer their students but to celebrate the vital role counselors play in building a more hopeful, informed, and accessible path to college.”

Themed “Striking a Balance,” the 2025 conference connects directly with Hartwick’s Life Balance College initiative, emphasizing wellness, career readiness and holistic student success. In addition to showcasing Hartwick’s vibrant campus and educational model, the conference is expected to enhance brand awareness and fuel long-term enrollment growth—trends observed at other institutions that have hosted in the past.

“This is a critical moment in higher education,” Gross said. “With shifting demographics, economic pressures and increasing student needs, coming together to examine access, equity and collaboration from every angle has never been more important. The NYSACAC conference is more than a gathering—it’s a call to action for all of us in this work.”

NYSACAC is the state affiliate of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the only professional association composed of members from secondary schools, community-based organizations, colleges and universities. The annual NYSACAC conference is the largest gathering of admissions and counseling professionals in the state and you still have time to join.
