Four Pillars of Life Balance: Academics, Wellness, Career, and Financial Health
Hartwick’s new identity as “The Life Balance College” is built on four key pillars designed to support students in every aspect of their college experience:
-
- Academic Well-being: Personalized faculty support and regular check-ins with guidance teams ensure students are academically on track.
- Physical and Emotional Wellness: Hartwick’s active campus environment, diverse athletic programs and expansive outdoor spaces foster physical health, while counseling services and peer health advisors offer emotional support for students in need.
- Career Preparation and Outcomes: Real-world experiences such as J Term travel courses and strong alum connections equip students with the skills and networks necessary for successful careers.
- Financial Health: With a new focus on affordability and reducing student debt, Hartwick graduates will have the financial freedom to pursue their career goals without the burden of overwhelming debt.
Redefining Affordability: Transparent Pricing and Reduced Debt
In addition to this holistic approach to student well-being, Hartwick is setting a new standard in affordability with its transparent tuition model. Starting in Fall 2025, Hartwick’s tuition and standard fees will be $22,000, while room and board will cost $16,000. Students will also be eligible for up to $10,000 in merit scholarships. This new pricing structure positions Hartwick as a clear and affordable college choice, offering both public and private institutions strong competition. More importantly, it provides transparency and clarity, reducing the long-term debt burden on students and their families while maintaining the high quality of education Hartwick is known for.
Notably, this tuition model isn’t limited to incoming students. Current students will also benefit from the new tuition structure, ensuring that affordability and clarity extend to the entire Hartwick community.
“Our focus is on providing students with the tools they need to thrive academically, personally, and financially,” Mullen added.
