Homecoming, Reunions and Everything in Between

Now known as True Blue Weekend, Hartwick has been mixing and matching versions of this celebration for nearly a century.

Homecomings once meant parades and football games, with the crowning of a “Campus Sweetheart.” Reunions had their own season and Parents Day was sometimes folded in.

The format may have changed — from hotel banquets in the 1930s to dances with live music acts like jazz great Count Basie in the 1960s — but the goal has always been the same: bringing Hartwick people back together.

Since 2013, True Blue Weekend has united alumni, families, and reunion classes into one campus-wide celebration — a tradition that is still evolving, but always true to the Hartwick spirit. The 2025 True Blue Weekend, scheduled for Sept. 19–21, will continue this tradition of welcoming the entire Hartwick community back to celebrate together.
