Move-in Information

Welcome, Hawks!
We are looking forward to helping you move-in on Wednesday, August 23.

Fall 2023 Move-In

This guide will serve as your resource page for all information related to Move-In at Hartwick College. We will continue to update the guide so, please check back for additional details, checklists, and move-in announcements.

Guests Assisting with Move-In

As parking on campus is limited, please limit the number of guests with extra vehicles helping you move in.

Move-In Appointments

To help with traffic flow, all students will need to schedule a move-in appointment time. Information about how to schedule a move-in appointment has been shared with students via their Hartwick email address. Students can sign up for a move-in appointment on the Housing Portal.

Check-In Information

Move-in starts at 9 a.m. on August 23. All students and their families must enter campus via the West Street entrance (see map) and proceed to the Binder Physical Education Center. Signs and volunteers will direct you.

Once you’ve parked in the Binder lot, enter the large tent in the Miller Court lot and pick up your Hartwick Check-in Passport, orientation schedule, class shirt and other important material. The Check-In Passport will direct you to representatives from offices that need you to complete a form or provide information, that have Hartwick merch for you, or that can connect you with the College’s broad array of resources. All of this can be completed right in the tent!

Once all your paperwork has been completed, you’ll be directed to the Office of Residential Life and Housing table, where you will pick up your room key and unloading pass. You’ll pass through check-out and head to your new home away from home – your residence hall!

Moving in to your Residence Hall

After leaving centralized check-in, follow the one-way route through campus to your residence hall. Your unloading pass will be color-coded to your building. Be sure to stick it on your dashboard so our volunteers can see it.

Move-In FAQ

You should have received a notification from Residential Life and Housing about your arrival on campus. While we will not have the same help for moving into the buildings as students arriving on August 23, we will make your arrival as welcoming as possible. You’ll receive your Hartwick Check-in Passport so you can follow up with any offices you need to, and your Wick Week schedule and new student shirt will be presented to you by your coach.

Keys will be available on the 4th floor of Dewar Union for any new student arriving after 1 p.m.

Students can get their photo taken for their WICKit card at Lambros Arena after going through Centralized Check-in.

We highly encourage you to bring just one car as parking is limited. If you need two vehicles for some reason, both cars should follow the route to Centralized Check-in, where both cars will need to get unloading passes.

You can arrive anytime during the 30 minutes of your scheduled check-in appointment. If your arrival is delayed beyond that window, please let us know by emailing reslife@hartwick.edu.

Check out the Wick Week schedule for Wednesday here. There will be plenty of opportunities to grab food, say goodbye to your family, discover the many resources we have to offer, and begin your FlightPath as a Hartwick Hawk.
