Jennifer Dearden, DMA

Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost

Jennifer’s career began at Allegheny College in Meadville Pennsylvania as a faculty member in the music department. She progressed through a series of increasingly senior leadership roles including department chair, associate provost, senior associate provost and finally interim provost. Jennifer is a classically trained trumpet performer and remains engaged in performance and professional service.

Jennifer holds a doctorate in trumpet performance from the University of North Texas, a master of music from Florida State University and a bachelor of music from Ithaca College. She is thrilled to join Hartwick College and looks forward to working alongside faculty, staff and students to build on its strong tradition of student-centered, experience-rich liberal education.
