Osamede Evbuomwan
Health and Safety Manager & Adjunct Instructor
Osamede Evbuomwan is an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional, educator, and industry consultant with more than a decade of experience in occupational safety, environmental compliance, and industrial hygiene across academic, construction, and industrial settings. He currently serves as the Safety Manager at Hartwick College, where he oversees programs designed to protect the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community.
Osa is a Certified Safety Professional and OSHA-authorized outreach trainer with extensive experience delivering OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour training programs in both general industry and construction. Over the course of his career, he has trained workers and students in workplace safety practices and regulatory compliance.
His teaching integrates real-world industry experience with regulatory frameworks to help students understand how environmental and occupational health principles are applied in practice.
At Hartwick College, he teaches courses in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Safety Management, and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Industrial Toxicology and Indoor Air Quality Management. He has also developed experiential learning opportunities and internship pathways that have helped students secure positions with major employers such as Amazon, New York State, L3Harris and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Osa holds graduate degrees in Environmental Science from Rutgers University and Ecology (Ecotoxicology) from Vrije University Amsterdam. His professional certifications include Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), and Certified Chemical Hygiene Officer (CCHO), Sigma Black Belt and Council certified Indoor Environmental Consultant. His work focuses on strengthening safety culture, advancing environmental sustainability, and preparing the next generation of environmental health and safety professionals.
