January is “Mentorship Month,” so we wanted to highlight a recent example of the College’s alumni network mentoring a student to success in finding their first job.

Meet Luísa Andrade ’22

Major: Business Administration and Global Studies (with a minor in French)

Current Role: Account Executive at Orlando City Soccer Club, Orlando, FL

How did you benefit from connecting with Hartwick Alumni?
“The Hartwick College Alumni network was imperative to my transition from college to the working world. As an international graduate and former student-athlete, I benefited greatly from reaching out to fellow Hartwick alumni both personally and professionally.”

What is the most valuable thing you have gained from having a mentor?
“Learning from their journey and actively utilizing the insights gained as I progress in my career.”

Have you considered becoming a mentor?
“Mentorship led me to my first job out of college and I feel compelled to be a resource to students who aspire to follow a similar path.”

One instrumental figure in shaping that foundation was Harold “Hal” Bradley, a 1934 Hartwick graduate who went on to coach basketball at Hartwick College, Duke University and the University of Texas at Austin.
