The annual award celebrates Hartwick nursing alumni whose careers reflect the values of compassion, lifelong learning and professional excellence fostered through the College’s nursing program.

Students will build community connections, develop confidence and become familiar with campus resources before the start of the fall semester.

Both students developed their business concepts through Hartwick’s Griffiths Center for Collaboration & Innovation entrepreneurship-focused program that connects students with mentorship and hands-on startup experience.

Kevin Flaherty ’14 is an assistant district attorney in Boston.

Meet some of the amazing students that make the Class of 2026 truly special.

One instrumental figure in shaping that foundation was Harold “Hal” Bradley, a 1934 Hartwick graduate who went on to coach basketball at Hartwick College, Duke University and the University of Texas at Austin.

Lydia Marteney ’21 is the Post-Award Specialist at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Omar Russon ’16 is a lawyer, generally focused on the area of civil rights.

The Anna Sonder Prize for Poetry was established in 1978 by the late Otto Sonder, professor emeritus of sociology. The College presents the prize annually under the auspices of the Academy of American Poets.

Michael Palanza ’06 is the district director of world languages and social studies in the Niskayuna Central School District.
