Preparing for what’s next
In your sophomore year, we’ll continue working together to define and align your personal and professional goals. You’ll become ready for the real world of work with immersive experiences like a conference-style summit where you’ll learn key professional skills and an alumni mentoring and job shadowing program in major cities. It’s the beginning of your connections with alumni and the start of your professional network.
Get powerful experience
In your second year, your Guidance Team will match you with professional opportunities, on campus and off, that fit your interests, so you can work and learn at the same time.
Explore career paths
The Sophomore Success Summit is a unique conference required of all sophomores—it’s just that important. Along with your classmates, you’ll explore career ideas, move toward mastering the art of networking, connect with inspiring alumni, and chart your next steps.
Start your network
Networking starts early at Hartwick. A series of conversations with alumni and representatives from businesses, The Hawk Career Hop will empower you to learn about career options after college. With your classmates, you’ll travel to major cities, visit businesses, and shadow alumni at their workplaces. You’ll also gain insider insights and make meaningful connections for the future.
Majors & Minors
To keep their FlightPath on track, all Hartwick students select a major by the spring of their sophomore year — as well as any additional majors and minors. (Some students start out in their majors, like nursing students, who begin clinicals in their first year.)
