Hartwick College’s Yager Museum Opens Fall Programming with Reception for “The Four Seasons” on Sept. 26

The Yager Museum of Art & Culture at Hartwick College will kick off its fall programming with a reception celebrating the opening of a new exhibition, “The Four Seasons: Selections from the Yager Museum Collections,” on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 4-6 p.m.

Changing seasons help provide a sense of place, shaping the landscapes around us throughout the year. Artists have long sought to capture these seasonal changes through paintings, prints and photographs, while composers have created soundtracks for nature’s changing cycles.

“The Four Seasons” will transport visitors through the seasons of the year as interpreted by artists represented in the Yager Museum of Art & Culture collections, including Hudson River School painters, American and Japanese printmakers and local artists. The visual arts will be complemented by the music and poetry of Antonio Vivaldi.

The reception is open to the public, and refreshments will be served. “The Four Seasons” will be on view through May 20, 2027.

The museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., when the College is in session. The museum will also be open Monday, Oct. 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day. Admission is free.
