These are just some of the ways that Harwick faculty and staff are using their Volunteer Paid Time Off to reach out into the community.
“The Volunteer Paid Time Off program is so important,” said Suzanne Janitz, vice president for human resources and compliance.
Increasing staff and faculty volunteer opportunities is embedded in the College’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Strategic Plan.
Among those local organizations seeking volunteers are the Friends of Christmas Dinner, Super Heroes Humane Society and the Susquehanna SPCA, and Hill City Celebrations, email [email protected].
Employees can receive up to 16 hours of paid volunteer time off by completing the form on the College’s website.
THRIVE is an experience designed program to help students build community, recognize their strengths and develop the skills and connections needed for a successful first year.
Mary Allen, professor of biology at Hartwick, will accompany the group and offer a faculty perspective informed by her work in microbiology, food systems and the biological processes that shape food.
