School Counselor Resources

As a school counselor, you are a critical partner in Hartwick’s success.

Becoming The Life Balance College

As your students seek guidance on selecting the right college, encourage them to consider a school that enhances what excites them while providing clear financial expectations. Hartwick College, known as The Life Balance College, emphasizes a holistic approach to education. We prioritize academic excellence, physical health, professional readiness, and notably, tuition transparency. Our clear, upfront pricing ensures students understand the financial commitment from the start, supporting their overall well-being and making Hartwick an ideal choice for a balanced and fulfilling college experience.

We take a very holistic approach to reviewing applicants for admission and review all applications on a rolling basis beginning in mid-October. Each student has a story to tell and we want to learn that story. Students who do well at Hartwick are those who engage inside and outside the classroom, so we look for that in their high school experience in addition to considering their academic profile.

Majors, Minors & Programs

Whether your students have a major in mind or are excited to explore, Hartwick has plenty of options for them to choose from! Our largest majors include nursing, business administration, psychology, biology and criminal justice. Some exciting new programs include game development, cybersecurity and digital marketing. And Hartwick also offers certifications and minors. No matter their program, students benefit from dedicated professors, exciting real-world work opportunities and a community that is passionate about their success.

Transparent Pricing

Students and families deserve better than confusing college costs and crushing student loan debt. Hartwick’s pricing is simple: Tuition and standard fees are $22k per year and room and board is $16k per year. We’re still offering up to $10k in annual merit scholarships.

The HartLand Promise

Hartwick has a longstanding commitment to the communities in our region — and we honor that through our HartLand Promise Scholarship. Students in schools in Otsego and eight surrounding counties  are eligible for our HartLand Promise Scholarship.
