To underscore its commitment to making a private liberal arts education accessible to students from upstate New York, Hartwick College has announced the expansion of its HartLand Promise Scholarship.

Open to alumni, parents, employees, and friends of the College, the program offers participants the chance to explore Portugal’s vibrant culinary and cultural traditions through immersive experiences in Lisbon and Porto.

The campaign has focused on five pillars, each of which plays an integral role in formulating the unique, independent, impactful education which decades of graduates attest is the essence of the Hartwick experience.

The fund will provide long-term support for the program, with potential uses including funding the team’s annual training trip, purchasing new equipment, and making improvements to facilities.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, Josh Rawitch, president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, will headline the Meredith Sport Management Speaker Series in Anderson Theatre at the Anderson Center for the Arts.

Recognized for excellence in student wellness and safety education, Hartwick was also among the first institutions in the nation to receive the seal when it was launched.

The Yager Museum of Art and Culture at Hartwick College will open two new exhibitions: “The Study of One Thing: The Zen Arts of Jody Hojin Kimmel, Sensei” and “Memorializing the Underground Railroad: The Harry Bradshaw Matthews Collection.”

Hartwick College is pleased to announce the appointment of two distinguished alumni, Matt Chase ’93 of Arlington, Virginia, and Garfield Drummond ’99 of Dover, Massachusetts, to its Board of Trustees.

Four members of the Hartwick College community have been selected to receive a 2025 Alumni Award.
