This past summer, supported by a Hartwick Faculty Research Grant, Rozene worked with Shawn Hansen ’22 and chefs at the Hambidge Center for the Arts in Georgia to recreate prehistoric cooking techniques with clay vessels.

The Hartwick English major/theatre minor wrote Vela 225, a 10-minute play, for Hartwick’s annual 24-hour theatre festival. Vela 225 was a finalist for the new Planet Earth prize at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) in Region 1.

Thanks to FlightPath funding, four students and Professor of Political Science Laurel Elder attended and presented at The National Political Science Honor Society’s Undergraduate Research Conference held at George Washington University from February 17-19.

The Honors student is a double major in economics and mathematics. They are also a member of the swimming/diving squad, have been named to the Empire 8 President’s List several times

“This is the first time my work has been in a show,” she said of her piece, No Parking. “It was so exciting when I found out I’d been selected.”

For Kara Swartwood ’24, being a teaching assistant (TA) in Professor Jim Buthman’s FlightPath class “Public Policy for a Changing US” was a way to honor the student who inspired her.

Professor Zoe Oxley, professor of political science at Union College, will present “This One’s for the Boys: How Gendered Political Socialization Limits Girls’ Political Ambition and Interest.”

Dr. Teresa “Tese” M. Stephens is a nurse educator, researcher, and consultant with more than 35 years of experience in both practice and academic settings, holding positions from adjunct faculty to dean.
