Horror at the Museum 2020

Yager Museum to Host Virtual “Horror in the Museum”

October 23, 2020

The Yager Museum of Art & Culture at Hartwick College will once again host its annual Halloween storytelling event, “The Horror in the Museum,” on Thursday, October 29 from 6 – 8 p.m. This virtual event features readings and performances of classic and original tales of spooky fiction and poetry. Performers this year will include students from Hartwick’s literary magazine, Word of Mouth, as well as faculty and staff members. No advance tickets will be required and the event is free to the public. The suggested age of attendance, due to the content of the performed material, is 10 and up.

Though the Museum is currently closed to non-Hartwick community members, this event will be live-streamed over the Museum’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/yagermuseum.

“We love hosting ‘The Horror in the Museum’ and really wanted to continue it, despite COVID-19 restrictions,” said Quentin Lewis, the Museum’s collections and programs manager. “Live-streaming over the Museum’s Facebook page will allow us to continue this fun Halloween tradition here at the Yager in a way that’s safe for us and for the public.”

The Yager Museum is not currently open to the public. However, the Museum is planning future virtual events, including an online film series for November. More information will be available on this and additional events through the Museum’s Facebook page and webpage, or by calling 607-431-4480 or e-mailing Lewis at lewisq@hartwick.edu.
