Hartwick College’s Yager Museum Offers Free “World of Water” Program

February 16–18

The Yager Museum of Art & Culture at Hartwick College will host “World of Water,” a series of activities for families and children during Oneonta schools’ February break. In partnership with the Hanford Mills Museum, the Yager Museum will offer water-themed games, crafts and hands-on activities from Monday, Feb. 16, through Wednesday, Feb. 18. “World of Water” will run from 1 to 3 p.m. each day and is free and open to the public.

“We’re really excited to partner again with our friends at Hanford Mills,” said Museum Curator Quentin Lewis. “They bring wonderful games and activities related to water and history for parents and children. We know that parents are looking for activities to do with their kids during winter break, and we love being a family and community space during this cold month.”

Light refreshments will be served. Children must be accompanied by adults.

The Yager Museum’s galleries will also be open during the program. Visitors can explore the museum’s current exhibits, including “Discovering Our Place: Working, Learning, and Playing in These Hills,” “The Study of One Thing: The Zen Arts of Hojin Kimmel,” “Sculptures in Silver: America’s Standing Liberty Quarters, 1916–1931,” and “Masterpieces of European and American Art: The Hartwick College Art Treasure Room.”

The museum’s regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., when the College is in session. The museum is closed on Sundays, Mondays, College holidays and when the College is not in session. Admission is free. More information on this and additional events is available on the museum’s Facebook page and webpage, by calling 607-431-4480, or by emailing Lewis at [email protected].
