Hartwick College Earns Sixth Consecutive CPN Seal of Prevention

Hartwick College has once again earned the 2025 Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention™, marking the sixth consecutive year the College has been recognized for excellence in student wellness and safety education. Hartwick was also among the first institutions in the nation to receive the seal when it was launched.

The seal is awarded to colleges and universities that meet the highest standards for digital prevention and well-being programming. It recognizes institutions whose efforts support student success, foster a positive campus climate and promote community wellness.

Hartwick’s Director of Wellness and Health Promotion, Heidi Tanner, said the recognition underscores the College’s commitment to a proactive, holistic approach to wellness. “Earning the Seal of Prevention for six consecutive years affirms the strong foundation of wellness we’ve built at Hartwick,” Tanner said.

“Students today understand that wellness is something you practice, not something that just happens. Our role is to give them the tools, education and opportunities to build healthy habits and supportive relationships. Receiving the seal again shows that Hartwick is serious about preparing students to succeed both here and beyond college.”

She added that the College’s integrated approach has been key to sustaining progress. “At Hartwick, we integrate wellness into the full student experience, helping students balance their health, academics, and community connections in meaningful ways. That integration reflects the culture of care we want students to carry with them long after they leave our campus.”

Hartwick is among fewer than 10 percent of colleges nationwide to earn the Seal of Prevention for this many consecutive years. The recognition, now overseen by Vector Solutions, is known for setting the standard for best practices in online prevention education.
