Trustee Mehri ’83, H'01 Featured in New NY Times Podcast

Cyrus Mehri, a preeminent civil rights attorney who helped establish the Rooney Rule, which revamped hiring practices of minority coaches in the National Football League, was recently a guest during the premiere episode of a new podcast called “Between the Lines.”

Created by the New York Times’ sports-focused subsidiary, The Athletic, the limited-run series “looks at the Black experience in the NFL through a series of interviews with a diverse group of current and former NFL players, coaches, executives and league officials.”

The first episode focuses on watershed moments in race and activism in football, including the development of The Rooney Rule.
