September 13, 2022

Later this month, hundreds of alumni, friends, family and members of the Hartwick College Community will return to Oyaron Hill for the annual celebration of all things Hartwick. True Blue Weekend 2022 – part Homecoming, part Reunion and Family Weekend – will be the first under President Darren Reisberg and take place from September 23 – 25.

True Blue Weekend 2022 features traditional favorites and new, can’t-miss events – on campus and off – and serves as a celebration of the College’s 225-year legacy and a look ahead at a new era. Departmental reunions, a rock-and-roll photo exhibit, campus tours, live music performances, and much more are on tap for this family-friendly weekend.

Highlights of True Blue Weekend 2022 include:

Friday:

  • The 2nd Annual The Classic Nick Lambros ’59 Golf Tournament in support of Hartwick Athletics will again be held at the Oneonta Country Club. The tournament kicks off at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start.

  • Mingling Minds – Attendees are invited to meet the current faculty in their discipline. Discuss major questions of the day, and what may have changed in your field since graduation. Hear cutting-edge updates from faculty and share impactful departmental memories. Held in Stack Lounge, Dewar Hall, from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

Saturday:

Drugovich P’12, President Emerita, who will receive the Meritorious Service Award.
  • Dedication of Wright Family Overlook – Join us as we cut the ribbon to officially name the overlook at Memorial Staircase, and recognize the continued generosity of Trustee Emeritus Brian Wright H’02 and his wife, Josie.
  • Brooks BBQ With President Reisberg – What is True Blue without a barbeque lunch provided by Brooks House of Bar-B-Q? President Reisberg will be on hand to meet and dine with the Hartwick Community.
  • TEDx Oneonta – Designed to bring together a diverse group of community members to share ideas and become change-makers, TEDx Oneonta has become a popular annual tradition. Hartwick College is a lead sponsor of this year’s event, which will be held at the Foothills Performing Art Center at 7 p.m.

Sunday:

  • Pine Lake Fall Festival – The Pine Lake Environmental Campus, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, will be bustling with activities during its annual Fall Festival. Bread baking in the cob oven, apple cider pressing, horse-drawn wagon rides, live music, and hiking and boating are scheduled. This year, attendees can even take advantage of community service volunteer opportunities in the new Pollinator Garden.
