First Annual Honors Week to Recognize Student Achievement
Hartwick will celebrate the achievements of outstanding students during the College's inaugural Honors Week celebration, May 3-5.
Featuring a series of events and activities, Honors Week reimagines and combines a host of previously held events, including the Dean’s List
Reception and College Honors activities, into a more robust celebration of student excellence and accomplishments. The week’s activities also feature long-time Hartwick traditions like Student Showcase and the College’s pre-commencement senior celebration activities and initiatives.
“This new approach to Honors Week allows us to truly celebrate the exceptional work of our students,” said Cherilyn Lacy, Assistant Dean of Faculty. “Their achievement reflects the deep impact of the meaningful, future-focused experiences they encounter inside and outside the classroom at Hartwick. And in streamlining our events and activities, we believe this new Honors Week approach will offer a more focused approach to sharing in and celebrating the joys of the Hartwick learning experience.”
Honors Week events include:
7 p.m. Wednesday, May 3: Honors Convocation, Slade Theater.
An academic ceremony highlighting achievement within areas of study. As space is limited, this event is by invitation only.
4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4: Honors Recognition Reception, the Stevens-German Library, Yager Hall.
An event recognizing Dean’s List recipients and seniors who have completed the College Honors program or who have been inducted into the Hartwick Honor Society.
8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday, May 5: Student Showcase, various locations.
A campus-wide celebration of student achievements through presentations, performances, poster sessions and creative projects. Winners of student research awards, such as the Duffy Family Ambassador Fund Scholarships, will be announced at a by-invitation only event at 1:30 p.m. in the Farrington Room.
Honors Week will also include a series of pre-commencement events and activities for seniors, including:
