Environment Scholarship Awards
Three different scholarship awards are available: Environment Research, Environment Internship, and International Environment Project.
With funds from the Margaret Cargill Foundation, Hartwick College established an endowment in 2010 to support students interested in environment-based projects to engage in thoughtful, rigorous, and important studies of the local, regional, and international environment.
Environment Research Scholar Award
The Environment Research Scholar Award is given annually, on a competitive basis, to students who plan to conduct student-faculty collaborative research at Pine Lake or in nearby state parks (e.g., Robert V. Riddell State Park). This award is designed to support research by providing a stipend of $500/week for up to 10 weeks of research. A Hartwick faculty member must agree to directly supervise each research project and provide a commitment letter that outlines the responsibilities of the faculty mentor.
Housing at the Pine Lake Environmental Campus or the main campus may be available with this award. Some equipment, supplies, and travel costs may also be covered.

The project must have documented approval from the on-site supervisor or host institution.
The award does not support participation in J Term or study-abroad courses.
